About the project
Seven in seven poster series for which I made seven posters in seven days using seven different themes from the 2023 Inktober prompts. The challenge was to focus on visuals and textures limiting the use of expressive typography.
Textures were very important in creating each poster. I layered, blended, and manipulated different textures to make a rich backdrop for the typography. From rough urban textures to soft organic patterns, each poster invited the viewer to feel the story through the textures.
Instead of distorting the letterforms, I used changes in size, weight, and placement of the type to express each theme. Working within these limits helped me appreciate the simplicity of typography and how versatile it can be for storytelling.
